INTERIOR SPACE ALTERATION
AT THE U.S. ATTORNEY’S OFFICE

R.E.M. performed construction services for the
renovation of the U.S. Attorney’s Office on the 11th
floor of the Phillip Burton Federal Building in San
Francisco, CA. This
high profile project
consisted of the
tenant improvement
of the entire main
floor of the U.S.
Attorney’s Office
encompassing 50,000
s.f. The interior
space alterations included constructing a new Media
(News) Conference Center; renovation of two
existing conference
rooms; complete
renovation of all offices,
lunch rooms, libraries,
mail room, supply room,
and computer center; and
construction of new
offices and conference
alcoves. This project involved all facets of
construction as described below:

- Break Room Sink and Cabinetry

U.S. CUSTOMS LAB SWING MOVE
AT THE U.S. APPRAISER’S BUILDING

Design/Build services were provided for the U.S.
Customs Lab Swing Move in the U.S. Appraiser's
Building located in San Francisco, CA for offices
and laboratories on the 11th floor. The project
involved temporarily relocating the U.S. Customs
laboratory while their current area was being
renovated. Services included multi-discipline
construction drawings, specifications, construction
management and construction.

| New STAIRCASE INSTALLATION
AT THE U.S. BORDER STATION

The main purpose of the Design/Build project
located in Calexico, CA was to remove the existing
escalator and install a new staircase to provide better
pedestrian access to the lobby from the second floor
in the Main Building of the U.S. Border Station. In
addition to the staircase installation, the canopy above
the existing pedestrian booths was removed in order
to provide a more spacious lobby. For the INS,
electronic beam counters were installed and the
existing pedestrian booths renovated. R.E.M.
performed design and engineering, project
management, construction, and construction
management services.
